ChatGPT is gaining Intelligent UI, which adds diagrams, charts, forms and interactive buttons to its answers. The feature is arriving alongside GPT-6, with access beginning for several paid plans. OpenAI says Go and free users are due to receive it Thursday.

How did ChatGPT reach this change?

OpenAI trained GPT-6 to decide when an answer could use interactive visuals instead of text alone. It also trained the model on how to format those visuals within a response. The feature therefore combines written explanations with elements that users can explore or operate.

The examples described by OpenAI include a bicycle diagram with buttons that highlight parts, and a Mahjong lesson built around tiles grouped into categories. ChatGPT can also make task-specific tools, including a retirement savings calculator, a retro game and a bill splitter. These examples show that the interface can vary with the request.

What is arriving for users now?

OpenAI is bringing GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna to ChatGPT as part of the rollout. The company says GPT-6 also supports stronger web searches and quicker partial answers while it gathers information. It describes the models as more resistant to attempts to bypass safety training.

The initial rollout covers ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users globally. OpenAI says those higher-tier subscribers will receive GPT-6 Sol, which it describes as the mid-range model. Go and free users are scheduled to gain access Thursday, with GPT-6 Luna, described as more efficient.

What remains to be clarified?

The source material does not explain how users can control when Intelligent UI appears, or whether they can turn off individual visual elements. It also gives no further detail about how the models choose between a text answer and an interactive response. The rollout description sets out plan eligibility and model access, but not a more specific timetable for each user.

OpenAI's stated next step is to extend access to Go and free tiers Thursday. The examples indicate that generated interfaces can support explanations, lessons and simple tools. How consistently those formats appear in everyday ChatGPT use remains to be seen from the information provided.
